Terms of Engagement

LEX Services is a trading name of DESCENTEK FZ LLC, a free-zone company incorporated in the United Arab Emirates under licence number 47012866, with registered offices at Compass Building, Al Shohada Road, Al Hamra Industrial Zone FZ, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

References to “we”, “our” or “the chambers” in these terms denote DESCENTEK FZ LLC trading as LEX Services.

We are engaged to advise on and prepare instruments of estate planning, principally Wills intended for registration with the DIFC Wills Service, the ADGM Wills Service or other competent authorities within the United Arab Emirates. The precise scope of each engagement is recorded in a written client-care letter issued before any work commences.

Our standard packages are offered on a fixed-fee basis. The Essential Will is provided at 4,000 AED and the Mirror Wills package at 7,500 AED. Both figures are inclusive of registration with the chosen authority, court and notarial fees, certified translation where required, and provisions for the appointment of guardians. No further sum becomes due in the ordinary course of the engagement.

Bespoke estate work outside our standard packages is quoted in writing following the initial consultation.

All communications between the client and the chambers are held in the strictest confidence and are protected by the duties of professional secrecy customarily owed by legal advisers to their clients. Information will be disclosed only with the client’s consent or where disclosure is required by applicable law.

Our liability arising out of or in connection with any engagement is limited to the fees paid by the client for the matter in question, save for liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

These terms, and any engagement governed by them, are subject to the laws of the United Arab Emirates and to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ras Al Khaimah, without prejudice to any mandatory forum prescribed by the registry with which a Will is lodged.
